John Birmingham is a filmmaker, musician and actor. He grew up in Roanoke, Virginia, where he pursued music, art, writing and filmmaking throughout childhood. John has worked hard to star in or direct films with Ed Asner, Pauly Shore, Peter Medak, Brandon Dicamillo, Chris Raab "Raab Himself," Ron Jeremy, Eerie Von and dozens of other Entertainment legends and friends who have been successful in entertainment. At age 19, John moved to Los Angeles to pursue entertainment. While in Los Angeles, John worked as a Production Designer for Full Moon Pictures and on other films, he graduated Chapman University with a M.F.A. in Film Production and Loyola Marymount University with a B.A. in Screenwriting, and wrote/directed/produced his first feature film that he also starred in, Crazy Animal. One of John's short films, Tir Nan Og, that he produced and edited, won a Young Artist award in 2002 alongside Frankie Muniz (Shia LeBouf was there to accept the award on his behalf), Rupert Grint from Harry Potter, and all other studio movies. A higher budget short film he produced, production designed and edited, Imagination, also went to dozens of international film festivals and won awards in the early 2000s while he was living in Los Angeles. Most of being in L.A. John spent going to school. He also worked as a production designer on feature films. John returned to his home town in Virginia in 2005 to marry Danica DeCosto and have two children, Rowan Birmingham and Ivan Birmingham. John and Danica divorced in 2011 and remain good friends. Danica, Rowan and Ivan star in videos on her Youtube page, where they have received a great deal of attention, averaging between 7 million and 40 million views per month as of January 2018. John conceived and stars in Danica's biggest internet video, "Rowan is terrified of Ronald McDonald," which has over 49 million views as of May 2018. John Birmingham is best known for his work writing/directing/producing/starring in/editing and composing the musical numbers for three feature films: Crazy Animal, The Vampires of Zanzibar and Rednecks. In 2011 John Co-produced the remake of Plan 9 From Outerspace by Darkstone Entertainment and also had a decent bit role in the film, which was just released in 2015/2016. John has acted in or been a part of producing dozens of other films, for his filmmaker friends Johnny Johnson of Darkstone Entertainment, Tracy Lee Staton, Derek Young, Mat and Myron Smith, Cory Greer and others. John has been producing videos for his Youtube page and is in negotiations to have his feature films The Vampires of Zanzibar and Rednecks distributed. He pays the bills working in real estate, which has funded all three of his feature films and dozens of his original music videos. John has written, recorded, performed and produced more than 40 music videos. A great deal of John's work can be seen on his Youtube page, which as of February 2018 has over 11,000 subscribers and 9 million views. As of February of 2018, John lives in a house in the woods built by a brilliant artist, the artist's greatest creation that took him 7 years to build. John has played guitar for more than 30 years (since he was a small child), played drums for more than 25 years, filmed and edited since childhood in the early 90s, taught himself to sing in his mid twenties and was taught art beginning in childhood by his grandmother who was one of the first female graduates from Pratt's art school in the 1930s. John is an expert using Adobe Photoshop and Final Cut Pro, which he has been using since the year 2000. John has filmed thousands of videos and at least roughly recorded over 100 original songs. His greatest accomplishment and greatest love on earth are his children Rowan and Ivan (he also loves family and friends much more so than any of his work in film or music).
