Danny Buday is a film and TV director, writer and producer. Danny has directed multiple thriller feature films for Lifetime Movie Network, including the movies Crazy, Rich and Deadly (2021), Killer in Suburbia (2020), The Ex Next Door (2019), and Seduced by a Killer (2018).
Danny also directed the romantic comedy Country Christmas Album (2018) for Ion Television and Second Chance Christmas (2017) for UPTv and MarVista Entertainment. Danny previously directed the kids adventure film Paws P.I. (2017) for Lionsgate Entertainment.
Danny also wrote and directed the theatrically released war drama Battle Scars (2015), starring Zane Holtz, Heather McComb, Ryan Eggold, Fairuza Balk, and David James Elliott. Battle Scars world premiered at the G.I. Film Festival and won the Founders' Choice Award (Jury Award) for Best Feature Film. Battle Scars was released theatrically nationwide by distributor Gravitas Ventures.
Danny's feature directorial debut was the successful, independent film 5 Star Day (2010), starring Cam Gigandet and Jena Malone. 5 Star Day won the Jury Award for Best Feature at the Stony Brook Film Festival and was the Opening Night Gala Film at the Newport Beach Film Festival. In addition, 5 Star Day was the Closing Night FIlm of the Beverly Hills Film and New Media Festival, where Danny received the award for Best Directorial Debut of a Feature Film. 5 Star Day was released theatrically by distributor Gravitas Ventures and remains one of their highest-grossing Video On Demand independent drama titles.
Danny is a graduate of the American Film Institute (AFI) masters directing program. He wrote, directed, and composed the score for the award-winning AFI thesis film Dependency (2005), which was recognized as an official selection of the Los Angeles International Short Film Festival, the Camerimage International Film Festival and voted Best Student Film at the Dallas Deep Ellum Film Festival.
Danny has an MFA in Directing from the American Film Institute and a Bachelor's degree in Marketing from California State University at Long Beach. He resides in Los Angeles, CA.
